‘You don’t have to be a hero to accomplish great things – to compete. You can just be an ordinary chap, sufficiently motivated to reach challenging goals.’ ~ Sir Edmund Hilary
Ultra runner, philanthropist and Nelson Mandela Bay resident.
Currently I am the business specialist for Cellucity in Nelson Mandela Bay
I have been involved in raising funds for education and conservation from a young age, and my first real job was as a fundraiser for a local Nelson Mandela Bay charity
Over the past seven years he has regularly organised fundraising initiatives (small and larger) for local charities, one of which
is The Herald Christmas Cheer Fund
I am not just "any old" weekend warrior, sporting successes include:
o 2 x Two Oceans Ultra Marathons (2014, 2015)
o Finishing 4 x 100 mile races: The Washie (2018); Addo, Mac Mac, and UTD (2019), along with the first half of Karkloof 100 (where I was pulled off due to dehydration). The final four make up ‘AMUK’.
In November 2019 he helped organise the Galaxy Bingo ONE12run, a 12-hour individual or team relay challenge on the Sardinia Bay parkrun route at Grass Roof.
In 2021 I will be attempting an Everesting (September 24th) and two weeks later running ‘The Tusker’ (a 230-ish mile Expedition Ultra from Addo to Knysna)...
All so you don't have to ;) #AdoptATree now, please... help change lives forever.
